The Future of Work as an Open Ecosystem
A hybrid work environment has been created in Prague’s Vysočany district, defining a new era of offices. Škoda Auto’s experimental hub is not just a place to work – it is a circular economy laboratory where large-format 3D printing and Mínus® recycled panels form a single functional unit.
When KOMPLITS studio and the company Fungamental designed the new workspace for Škoda Auto, the goal was not to create rigid desk-bound facilities. Instead, an open 856 m² workspace was created, supporting the natural alternation of activities – from deep focus and team brainstorming to informal networking over coffee.

A Balanced Dialogue of Technologies
A key element of the design is large-format 3D printing, utilized on an unprecedented scale. This method was used to create ceilings, wall cladding, and a central meeting pavilion. Our Mínus® panels entered this hi-tech environment as a material partner, complementing digital production where maximum durability and tactile quality are required.
“The use of Mínus panels was not a decorative gesture, but part of a broader material strategy. We were looking for a substance that would complement the 3D printed elements while bringing a different texture and visual layer to the interior. The result is a balanced dialogue between digital production and practical operation,” explains Pavel Kříž, founder of KOMPLITS studio and Fungamental.

Circularity as a Framework, Not a Bonus
In 2026, sustainability is no longer just a marketing narrative, but a logical direction in the evolution of architecture. The Škoda Auto project confirms this in every detail:
- Material footprint: 4.75 tons of material with a high proportion of recycled content were processed during production.
- Exposed areas: We utilized Mínus® panels for bar counters and table elements in lounge zones—areas where the material is most visible and in constant contact with people.
- Biophilic design: The space is structured by 700 plants, creating a natural microclimate for focused work and informal meetings.

Recycled Material as a Full Standard
Škoda Auto’s openness to recycled plastics shows that even large corporations now perceive circular materials as a natural part of innovation. For architects, Mínus® panels are more than just a design statement – they are a full-fledged material that stands comparison with classic surfaces while carrying a strong story of technological progress.
The most popular part of the realization has become the entrance lounge zone, where Mínus® panels naturally connect to the bar base, forming a vibrant hub for the entire space.
