From Pizza Oven to Global Leadership: We’ve Opened a New Era for Plastic Guys

On Thursday, April 23rd, our premises in Kuřim were filled with the very people who have made Plastic Guys what we are today. The official inauguration of our new hall was more than just a ribbon-cutting ceremony – it was a celebration of six years of innovation, experimentation, and visions that have now materialized into the largest recycling line of its kind in the world.

The air was filled with three words: Energy, Pride, and Future. Seeing over 130 guests – architects, designers, and partners – who share our vision was a massive boost of motivation for the entire team. The atmosphere of the event confirmed that Plastic Guys are no longer just a garage experiment, but a respected player in the world of global design.

For our founder, Ondra Venclík, this day was the personal and professional culmination of a major chapter.

“For me, the most powerful moment was the speech by the new line, where I looked back at our journey ‘from a pizza oven in a garage to the largest line in the world.’ That start of a new era – the moment we cut the ribbon – confirmed that we made it. I felt immense pride in the whole team and gratitude toward the people who traveled to Kuřim. Seeing a hall full of professionals who view ‘waste’ as a premium material was the ultimate proof that our work makes sense,” says Ondra Venclík.

Giga Panels: Ending Limits for Architects

For the first time, guests got an up-close look at our “giga” formats (3000 x 1400 mm). The reactions were immediate – architects and designers instantly began planning projects that were previously limited by the size of the slabs.

Scale is where the real change happens. Thanks to the new hall, we are transforming from a local manufacturer into a global entity. The new technology doesn’t just mean significantly higher capacity, but above all, technological precision and minimal thickness tolerance. We are giving architects a material that allows them to create without limits and fulfill even the most daring visions that were previously impossible due to panel size.

Good Vibes and a Few Confetti to Finish

Despite the technological significance of the event, our signature casual vibe was ever-present. Our guests showed incredible support and a keen interest in how we plan to push the material even further.

And as with any great event, there were some funny moments behind the scenes. While the rest of the team grabbed brooms after the finish to tackle a mountain of confetti, one of our colleagues, Vít, had to “tactically” disappear for another meeting exactly as the cleanup began. As Ondra adds: “Let’s just say he escaped that confetti storm by the skin of his teeth!”

Thank you to everyone who stood by us at the start of this new era. Plastic Guys are moving forward – and now on a scale that saves the world in a big way.
