When Giga-Format Recycled Plastic Defines Modern Brewery Interior Design
Combining traditional brewing with modern, sustainable materials might sound unusual at first. However, the new interior of the Darwin restaurant in Prague proves that when an investor’s courage meets technological progress, a space with a completely unmistakable identity is born. For this project, realized for the Zubr brand, we delivered interior centerpieces that demonstrate the full potential of our new large-format panels.

Monumental Partition Walls in a Giga-Format
The key elements of the entire space are the massive partition walls that visually structure the main restaurant hall. The architects took full advantage of our new milestone – Mínus panels in a maximum format length of 3 meters. This made it possible to design seamless, monolithic partitions without unnecessary dividing lines or disruptive joints.
Into these three-meter giga-panels in the Onyx texture, we precisely milled the silhouette of a bison (Zubr), which is the central symbol of the entire brewery. The Onyx texture, with its subtle, crystalline structure, gives the walls a depth that perfectly complements the raw metal details and warm tones of the wooden furniture.

A Play of Light and Beer Aesthetics
However, the Mínus panels in the Darwin restaurant do not only function as mechanical dividers. Both main partition walls and wall claddings are fully backlit with an integrated LED system. The internal pattern of the recycled material thus lets through a warm, diffuse light, which, combined with the wavy ceiling neons, creates a unique, almost ritual atmosphere in the interior.
Furthermore, the golden backlighting of the Onyx texture subconsciously evokes the color and sparkle of a freshly poured beer, taking the conceptual connection with the Zubr brand to the next level.

Durability That Welcomes Gastronomic Traffic
The beauty of restaurant interiors must always go hand in hand with uncompromising functionality. Mínus panels, made from 100% recycled plastic, are naturally non-absorbent, chemically resistant, and exceptionally easy to maintain. In a high-traffic gastronomic environment, where walls and tables face daily wear and tear, this represents a huge advantage over traditional wall coverings.
The Darwin restaurant project proves in practice that recycled plastic has long outgrown the category of minor design accessories. It has become a fully-fledged, large-format architectural element capable of carrying the identity of the most prominent domestic brands.
