This year’s Designblok marked a true milestone for us. For the first time, we introduced Off-space™, a new furniture brand born in collaboration with creative director Matěj Chabera. Years ago, at Plastic guys, we started melting down old keyboards and refrigerators into panels now known as Mínus®. Back then, it was just an experiment — today, it’s the foundation of a new era in design: sustainable, premium, and visually distinctive.
Our installation New Galaxy embodied what we love most about our work – transforming waste into sustainable design. Inspired by the melting and fusion of particles, we showcased how far recycling can go when combined with the aesthetics of high design. The booth presented the Unit chair, Emit lighting, Pillar and Legit tables, and of course, the extended Mínus® collection – now featuring new textures, dimensions, and depths.
As part of the program, we hosted a panel discussion “Turn OFF plastic & turn ON design”, moderated by our creative director. The panel brought together inspiring voices from across the design industry — David Karasek (mmcité), Jiří Krejčiřík, Alex Mlčáková, and Ondřej Venclík.
The discussion explored the intersection of design and sustainability – how creative decisions shape material choices, production processes, and the long-term impact of products on the environment. The shared conclusion: sustainability is not an add-on, but an integral part of the design process — present from the first sketch to the final product. This mindset reflects the principles of Lifecycle Assessment, where every stage of a product’s existence is considered and optimized.
Throughout the week, our booth was buzzing with energy. We met architects, designers, students, and curious visitors eager to explore the future of materials and design. We exchanged ideas about upcoming projects, potential collaborations, and how far we can push recycling together. Our daily get-together, Off-space & Off-time, became a space for connection, inspiration, and genuine joy in design.
For our team, Designblok was much more than a week-long exhibition — it was the moment when years of working with Mínus® evolved into a full-fledged brand, one that aims to reshape how we think about sustainability and interior aesthetics.
Off-space is not just furniture — it’s a responsible attitude toward design and the environment.
