Coffee Gallery, Butovice

A Circular Concept in the Heart of Galerie Butovice

Shopping centers are often defined by sterility and uniformity. However, the Coffee Gallery café in Prague’s Galerie Butovice decided to take a different path, proving that even in a bustling commercial environment, it is possible to create a space with soul, built on the principles of a circular economy. Our Mínus® panels became the centerpiece of the entire interior, with a total of 21 pieces supplied for this project.

Authors of the architectural concept: Oskar Madro and Adam Dvořák

Onyx: A Bar That Stops Time (and Customers)

The main protagonist of this realization is the backlit bar. For the vertical walls, we used 12 mm thick panels in our Onyx texture, which is ideal for optimal light transmission. Thanks to its unique structure, Onyx creates a warm, organic glow that visually separates the café from the hustle and bustle of the shopping arcade.

White Dalmatian: Cleanliness and Durability for Gastro Operations

The bar’s work surface and the large communal table are made of White Dalmatian texture in a 20 mm thickness. This thickness ensures maximum stability and durability in an extremely high-traffic environment. In this project, White Dalmatian offers:

  • High mechanical resistance: It easily handles impacts and the daily handling of dishes.
  • Easy maintenance: The surface is non-absorbent, which is crucial for contact with coffee and syrups.

Numbers That Make Sense

This realization is not just about design; it is a tangible contribution to a more sustainable future. For the production of the panels for Coffee Gallery, we utilized:

696 kg of recycled plastic
This corresponds to a savings of approximately 1,461 kg of CO2 that would have been generated during the production of virgin plastic.
For perspective: This is the amount of plastic the average Czech person produces in roughly 970 weeks (nearly 18,6 years).
