Plastic Guys X Valušek interiér: When Design Meets Sustainability
In today’s world, creating modern interiors is about more than just good looks – sustainability, quality, and material functionality are taking center stage. A perfect example is the collaboration between interior design studio Valušek interiér and Plastic Guys, brought to life in the cultural center of Markvartovice. How did the project come about, and why were Plastic Guys recycled panels the material of choice?
From Designblok to Realization
Valušek interiér first discovered Plastic Guys panels during a visit to Designblok. Their use was later recommended by architects from d21 architekti, the studio behind the design of the Markvartovice cultural center. One of the investor’s key requirements was sustainability – making the choice of recycled plastic panels a perfect fit.
Aesthetics Meets Practicality
Plastic Guys panels were used throughout various parts of the interior – from the serving window and window sills in the main hall, to the bar counter and cloakroom furnishings. Key selection criteria included design, sustainability, and functionality. The studio especially appreciated the modern and timeless texture of the panels, which blend visually with wood and other interior elements.
“As makers, we evaluate materials not only by their visual appeal, but also by their durability, practicality, and long-term usability,” the studio representatives add.
Smooth Processing Without Complications
In terms of production, the panels lived up to expectations. Working with them was comparable to other solid materials – similar to engineered stone, for example. Both fabrication and installation went smoothly, with no complications. The only minor limitation may be the panel format sizes.
Recycled Material as Added Value
And how did the client perceive the use of recycled plastic? While the eco aspect may not be immediately visible, it was a clear added value for the investor. The project as a whole was well-received and met expectations on all fronts.
