Youngprimitive Showroom, Brno

Youngprimitive Showroom, Brno Local Fashion Within the Backdrop of Industrial History

When you think of Youngprimitive, signature fashion, Brno patriotism, and an emphasis on local production come to mind. When this philosophy is merged with a former heating plant at Luční 28, a showroom is born that is more than just a store; it is a “cozy sanctuary” where craftsmanship, history, and modern sustainable materials meet.

A Collaboration of Local Creators

For the brand’s owner, Filip Urban, it was vital that local talent be involved in the creation of the showroom. The architectural concept by Kateřina Prátová was brought to life by Brno-based craftsmen—from blacksmiths who manufactured the stainless steel racks to lighting by Belight and the overall implementation by Duro Design.

The centerpiece of the entire space is a large-format table and shelving made from Mínus recycled panels by Plastic guys.

“We aren’t exactly the ‘gold trim and Italian marble’ type. A reusable philosophy makes more sense to us than ostentation. We are open to new technologies and solutions that are both aesthetic and sustainable,” explains Filip Urban.

A Centerpiece That Doesn’t “Scream”

The panel texture, selected during a personal meeting, acts as an anchor in the showroom. The table serves as a platform for product installations, morning team meetings, and a place to discuss outfit details with customers. According to Filip, the table fits into the space so naturally that it doesn’t “scream” for attention, yet it is impossible to miss and incredibly practical for daily use.

Material That Records History

Working with recycled plastic also brought moments of surprise. Filip openly admits that they were initially caught off guard by the surface’s vulnerability to minor scratches during everyday intensive use.

“At first, it worried us a bit, but now we see it as part of the history being written into the table. It is a living material that simply lives with us in the showroom,” Filip adds.

This material honesty and the willingness to embrace patina instead of artificial perfection perfectly capture the values Youngprimitive stands for. However, for customers or projects that prefer maintaining a pristine look even under heavy use, we at Plastic guys offer the option of applying special protective foils. These can protect the panel’s texture from external influences without detracting from its visual character.

A Place Where There Is No Rush

The goal was to create a platform for presenting products where visitors feel comfortable and gradually discover the details the team cares about. The showroom at Luční 28 is proof that sustainable retail doesn’t have to be boring or compromise-driven—it can be modern, industrial, and deeply personal.
