On Thursday, September 4, 2025, the Plastic guys x Delta Group – The Future of Design is Recycled event took place at the Delta Pods Architects office in Bratislava. Together we brought architects, designers, and material creators who are exploring new ways to do things differently – sustainably, creatively, and without compromise.
From the very beginning, the atmosphere was relaxed, intimate, and friendly. Guests came not only to absorb inspiration but also to ask questions and join in discussions. As Tomáš Messinger from Dřevodílo aptly put it:
“The atmosphere was excellent, given the intimate scale of the event, completely relaxed, even familiar. That helped guests engage and ask relevant questions.”

Where Innovation Meets Architecture
The program showed the diverse forms sustainable design can take:
- Plastic Guys presented recycled plastic as both a new aesthetic and a practical material for interiors and furniture.
- Moodpasta introduced acoustic and design solutions from recycled and recyclable materials, showing how even production waste can be transformed into functional design.
- Dřevodílo from Rousínov shared their responsible approach to furniture and interiors, presenting in an unexpected way using an avatar.
- Delta Pods Architects showcased their architectural philosophy right in the authentic setting of their office and sparked a natural discussion about materials.
- And the evening was complemented by the taste experience of Eliksir kombucha.

What the Presenters Said
According to Viktoria Smalova from Delta Pods Architects, the strength of the evening was its intimate scale and authentic context:
“The atmosphere of the evening was pleasant and relaxed, like being in a circle of friends, talking about things that inspire and excite us. Architecture is not a one-man show – and events like this give us the sense that what we do makes sense, and together we can achieve bigger goals.”
Kristina Pokorná from Moodpasta highlighted the openness and practical discussions:
“The atmosphere was very friendly and open, guests had curious and precisely targeted questions. We really enjoyed the presentations from Dřevodílo and Plastic Guys – theirs was even fun. We left with not only inspiration but also many valuable new contacts.”

Why These Events Matter
Feedback from speakers and guests made it clear that the biggest value of such gatherings is in connecting people across disciplines. As Tomáš Messinger added:
“It’s about showing practical applications of sustainable materials, deepening cooperation between architects, producers, and processors – and in the end, it also means potential for new projects.”
Moodpasta also emphasized how valuable personal meetings in informal settings are:
“These events create space to get to know other manufacturers and processors more closely, to share struggles and joys. They connect companies and architects in a unique way, which is extremely meaningful.”

Bratislava as the Beginning
The event proved that even smaller, intimate gatherings can deliver big outcomes – from sharing knowledge, to sparking new collaborations, to inspiring ideas that will shape future projects.
As Tomáš Messinger from Dřevodílo summed it up in one sentence:
“An excellent, friendly atmosphere in an inspiring environment, great people, and stimulating presentations.”
That’s exactly what we aimed for: to connect innovation with architecture and show that the future of design is recycled.
