Kofi Kofi ☕ Prague + Plastic guys = design that makes sense
The Kofi Kofi café network was born out of a passion for quality coffee and a desire to bring it within people’s reach — originally as stylish mobile cafés you could find at markets, festivals, or on city streets. Over time, however, the brand started to grow and today it also has permanent brick-and-mortar branches, including in Brno and Prague, where not only the coffee matters but also the space where you enjoy it.
And this is exactly where we got the chance to step in — Plastic guys.
Minimalism that lasts
“We used your panels for the interior of the Brno café, which we wanted to have in a very minimalist style,” describes Žaneta Kalasová from Kofi Kofi. “We liked it so much that we furnished our new Prague branch the exact same way.”
The recycled plastic panels became a natural part of the interior — clean lines, matte texture, and a timeless look perfectly match the overall brand concept. Moreover, they ensure high durability and practicality, which are key features in a busy environment.
Aesthetics, functionality, and a story
“For us, the minimalist appearance was important, but also the ability to shape the material. We needed a material that is easy to work with while maintaining a visually clean look,” Žaneta adds. The panels at Kofi Kofi serve not only as bar walls but also as cladding for the entire café walls — surfaces that must be durable, easy to clean, and withstand wear and tear.
One detail that impressed the team the most was the texture of the panels. “They look sturdy yet elegant. The fact that they are made from recycled plastic wasn’t the primary reason for us, but it definitely adds value. It just makes you feel better about it.”
Customer reactions and future plans
Customers were often surprised that the material is recycled plastic. “People praised the panel cladding a lot, and everyone was surprised that it’s made from recycled material. It really looks premium,” says Žaneta.
And what about the future? “We definitely plan to use the material in more cafés. It not only adds elegance but also creates a cohesive visual language across our branches. It helps strengthen the brand and the overall impression.”
